Tasnim – TEHRAN, Iranian football team Esteghlal’s international midfielder Rouzbeh Cheshmi underwent a successful knee surgery on Monday.

In the match against Padideh in Iran Professional League (IPL) in early March, Cheshmi damaged his anterior cruciate ligament and was ruled out for the rest of the season.

Cheshmi will be out for six months after undergoing knee surgery, which means he will miss the early weeks of the next season as well.

Cheshmi’s absence would be a blow for IPL leader Esteghlal.
