IPL: Esteghlal held by Naft Tehran, FC Mashhad defeats Zob Ahan [VIDEO]

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Esteghlal of Tehran was held to a 1-1 draw by Naft Tehran in the first week of the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.

In the match held at the empty Azadi Stadium in Tehran, Jaber Ansari put Esteghlal into the lead in the 31st minute but Arsalan Motahhari equalized the match in the 68th minute.

Earlier on the day, titleholder Esteghlal Khuzestan drew 2-2 with Tractor Sazi in the IPL curtain raiser in Tabriz.

In Mashhad, Siahjamegan defeated Iran super league champion Zobahan 2-1.

Also, Saba and Sanat Naft played out a goalless draw in Qom.

On Tuesday, Gostaresh Foolad will play Paykan, Sepahan face Padideh, Foolad meet Machine Sazi and Saipa host Persepolis.
