Persepolis victorious, Sepahan loses at home in IPL opening week [VIDEO]

Tasnim – TEHRAN, Persepolis football team edged past Saipa 1-0 in the Iran Professional League (IPL) first week on Tuesday.

Kamal Kamyabinia scored the only goal of the match in the 68th minute in Tehran’s Takhti Stadium.

Elsewhere, Sepahan of Isfahan suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Padideh.

Gostaresh Foolad and Paykan played out a goalless draw and Foolad lost to newly promoted Machine Sazi 2-1.

On Monday, Esteghlal was held to a 1-1 draw against Naft Tehran, Saba drew 0-0 with Sanat Naft, Tractor Sazi was held to a 2-2 draw against holder Esteghlal Khuzestan and Siahjamegan beat Zobahan 2-1.
