Tasnim – QOM, Samad Marfavi resigned as coach of Saba football team after a run of poor results in Iran’s Professional League (IPL).

Under the guidance of the 52-year-old coach, the Qom-based team remains second bottom in the Iran Professional League table after 15 weeks.

Saba has won just one match in the current season and suffered eight defeats.

Former Esteghlal coach had been appointed as Saba coach in July.

Marfavi has also coached Esteghlal, Paykan and Mes Kerman in Iran Professional League.

Former Saba player and ex-defender of Iran national football team Sohrab Bakhtiarizadeh is a candidate to take charge of the team.
