PGPL: Esteghlal finish second, Tractor Sazi end season in third [VIDEO]

Loading...Tasnim – TEHRAN, Esteghlal football team defeated Sepahan to finish runner-up in the Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) on Thursday.
The Blues came from behind to beat Sepahan 2-1 in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Mehrdad Mohammadi gave the visiting team a lead in the 40th minute.
Jaber Ansari equalized the match on the hour mark with a header and substitute Farshid Bagheri scored the winner in the 87th minute.
Esteghlal finished in second place with 57 points, nine points adrift of PGPL champion Persepolis.
Tractor Sazi came third in PGPL with 56 points. The Tabriz-based team defeated Naft Tehran 1-0 thanks to Edinho’s injury time goal.
Furthermore, Saba lost to Esteghlal Khuzestan 2-1 and was relegated from IPL, Zob Ahan finished in fourth place after beating Padideh 2-0, Foolad lost to Paykan 2-0, Gostaresh Foolad edged past Sanat Naft, Saipa defeated Machine Sazi 1-0 and Persepolis lost to Siahjamegan 1-0.
