Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Esteghlal midfielder Mojtaba Jabbari will reportedly bid farewell to football.

The 35-year-old player joined the Iranian popular football team in late June on a two-year contract.

Jabbari was signed by Alireza Mansourian but the coach is no longer Esteghlal coach.

He was sacked last week following disappointing results in Iran Professional League.

Jabbari is not allowed to take part at the Esteghlal’s training for two weeks and local media reports suggest that he will hang up his boots.

Jabbari started his playing career at Rah Ahan in 1995. He joined Esteghlal youth team after four years.

He was transferred to Aboomoslem in 2002 and returned to his former club Esteghlal in 2005.

The attacking midfielder moved to Al-Ahli of Qatar in 2013 and rejoined Esteghlal after four years.

Jabbari has also played for Iran national football team 31 times and scored three goals.
