Tehran Times – TEHRAN, Mehdi Taj and Mohammad Reza Saket, President and Secretary General of Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran (FFIRI) participated in the fifth FIFA Executive Football Summit in 2017/2018 series in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The Iranian officials negotiated with their Italian counterparts to extend cooperation with the European Federation in the meeting.

Taj and Saket also met the Royal Dutch Football Association officials, based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by two federations in November 2016.

With all of the participants sharing the same goal – to promote the game – they met in the knowledge that their development efforts will ultimately benefit not only their own countries but the footballing world as a whole, fifa.com wrote.

Representatives from the AFC, CONCACAF and UEFA met in the Dutch capital and discussed the FIFA Forward program, the future of youth and women’s competitions and opportunities for improving the transfer system and international match calendar.

They also reported on their experiences and country-specific issues and brought themselves up to date on the global game. The summit provided all of the delegates with an opportunity to share their knowledge and coordinate next steps.
