AFC – DOHA, After winning their opening AFC Champions League fixtures, Al Sadd and Persepolis will be looking to open up a three-point lead at the top of Group C when they clash at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium on Tuesday.

Baghdad Bounedjah came off the bench to net a late double as 2011 champions Al Sadd came from a goal down to defeat the United Arab Emirates’ Al Wasl last week as the Qatari side enjoyed a winning start on their return to continental action.

Semi-finalists last year, Persepolis cruised to victory in their opening game of the tournament after Godwin Mensha opened the scoring and Ali Alipour added a second-half brace as the Islamic Republic of Iran team swept aside Uzbekistan’s Nasaf.

It will be the first-ever meeting between the sides in the AFC Champions League, but Persepolis arrive with happy memories of their previous trip to Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium when they defeated Lekhwiya 1-0 in last year’s Round of 16.
