The Iranian football team lost to Russia 3-1 in 7th – 8th place playoff on Sunday and came eighth.
Iran started the competition in Italy with an 8-0 loss to USA and then drew 1-1 with Slovenia and lost to Italy 3-1 in Group A.
Titleholder USA won the title after beating Japan 5-0 in the final match.
Norway won the bronze medal match, beating Italy 6-5.
England came fifth following a 4-0 win over Slovenia.
The tournament included eight national youth teams from around the world.
