Tasnim – ST. PETERSBURG, Sardar Azmoun, known as ‘Iranian Messi’, says he is not scared of Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Iran has been drawn in Group B of the World Cup in Russia along with Portugal, Morocco and Spain.

Team Melli will play Morocco at the St Petersburg Stadium on Friday.

“I’m seriously not scared. If there’s only one forward, if I’m there or if I’m not there, right? I for one do not fear them. I am seriously saying this,” Azmoun told Mirror.co.uk.

The 23-year-old has scored 23 goals in 32 games for Iran to generate Premier League interest.

Azmoun will be backed up by an Iranian attack with solid scoring form going into the competition.

AZ Alkmaar forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored 21 times in 35 games over the past season for club and country.
