Reza Ghoochannejhad joins Apoel
Tehran Times – NICOSIA, Former Iran national football team striker Reza Ghoochannejhad has joined Apoel Nicosia.
The 31-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Cypriot football team.
The details of the contract have not been released.
Ghoochannejhad has joined Apoel as a free-agent player. Gucci scored 27 goals in 67 matches he played for SC Heerenveen.
Ghoochannejhad was a member of Iran national football team in the 2018 World Cup but spent the entire tournament as an unused substitute.
He announced his retirement from international football soon after the World Cup.
Ghoochannejhad represented Iran in the 2014 World Cup and scored Team Melli’s only goal against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Gucci started his playing career in SC Heerenveen in 2005 and has also played in Belgium clubs Sint-Truiden and Standard Liege.
