Tehran Times – BRIGHTON, Iranian winger Alireza Jahanbakhsh has been handed the no.9 shirt by Brighton and Hove Albion ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 24-year-old player signed a five-year contract after leaving Dutch club AZ Alkmaar. Brighton did not disclose the fee but media reports put it at 17 million pounds ($22.4 million).

Brighton will kick of the Premier League new season with a match against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Jahanbakhsh will likely remain an unused substitute against Watford by Brighton coach Chris Hughton since he has recently joined the team.
