While there are not much action on the fields these days........
But there several issues that deserve attention :

1- What is going on with Quieroz ?...his problems with IFF, his plans for TM ? how far has he gone ?......Will he be as resilient as Branko ? or may he leave before end of his contract ?

2-What is with ministry of Sport ?, what difference will it make ?..will budgets allocated to some teams change ?
.
3-With perspolise closing on hazfi cup, will Ali daei Stay ? and should he ?
.
4-Why only Esteghlal has been very aggressive in the trading market ?......
.
5-What is going on with Sepahan & Zob ahan ?...will they lose thier coahces ,players ?even thier dominance ?who will be the team to beat next year ?

6- With all due respect to Naser Hejazi, ( specialy for me as an Esteghlal/Taj fan ), Why there has not been such similar memorial service , with this magnitude , for other sport personalities ?........Only Fardin The actor had similar attention.......why is that ?

on quieroz, I think we shall have to wait a few months to be able to assess him. however, I'm very interested to see how much he's willing to involve himself with the Omid team and the iraq match up.
but as usual, there are worrying news on this front as well (so what's new?) as I hear around no less than 16 (SIXTEEN!!!!!!!) Omid players are not allowed to leave the country.
so I wonder just wat kind of a team will be facing iraq.

each year we face the same thing and each year IFF sits on its arse and does nothing till it's too late!!!
do they have cow dung in their skulls that prevents them from learning from past experience, i wonder

It is very pitty, to see Zob Ahan in "disarray "!, although, expected with our system..........every body wants to be the single receiver of all the credit !
The management wants to be acknowledged by the Coach & Players & fans, so does The coach, and so do the individual players........
Sepahan is no better.........magemenet problems.....losing great players to other teams or old age,...losing the coach for the similar reasons as Zob ahan.

On Quieroz.....I liked what he said last week : " I am here to change things, not to be changed myself " !!!
I how ever do not think such attitude can survive in IRAN.......I am sorry to say this , but I do not see any lenghty bright future for Quieroz in IRAN,.......Branko was unique !.......

Regarding Hejazi.........While important poletical personalities are killed by knives,and secrectly barried on midnights,.......The governement is head on, with its propaganda plans to keep footballers happy and bussy.

On Esteghlal..........They will win the league next year !........They got it all now,....The Stability, the mangement, The coach, The players, The money, The fan,...while others will be struggling.

its a pity no iranian player is actually concerned about the ACL anymore

shows how immature and unprofessional our players are. and how money (I dont want to get into politics with traktor openly run by sepah) over-rides everything else from club loyalty, professional future & career, dedication, ... etc among our stupid players!

our players have been extremely spoilt rotten that I am beginning to dislike some of them purely for what they talk and how they behave when it comes to matters of money or if they dont get what they want.

there is no discipline, no drive to become better. all that matters to our players, it seems, is money and comfort.
AND THAT MAKES THEM BEHAVE LIKE PROSTITUTES AND WHORES

I understand the need to secure one's future. but even if these whores had stayed put in sepahan and zob ahan, they would have got nearly as much anyway (I'm not counting the qatari transfers ... although they may have to pay a lot of tax and cost of living is high enough to make a dent in that fee as well). but what they throw away so easily is the chance to finally achieve something in asia and perhaps win the ACL trophy.

especially this year since sepahan was steamrolling over all opposition and they're to meet a crappy qatari side in quarters. and zob ahan was also doing well and were to meet a very weakened and struggling korean bluewings in quarters.
so both teams were pretty much guaranteed of a semifinal birth with one IRANIAN team going to the final.

how stupid you must be to throw away this chance for maybe 50 million more ... WHEN THE PRIZE MONEY FOR WINNING QUATERFINALS & SEMIFINALS AND EVEN PARTICIPATING IN THE FINAL (even if you lose) is 10-20 TIMES THAT AMOUNT???!!! (that is if you are a whore and dont care for career boosting glories and record books)

really, how stupid and immature , not to mention f**king BLIND one must be?

one prime example of whorish attitude is mehdi rahmati, who is talking about leaving the club just becoz he has been offered 100 million more elsehwere (from 600-700 to maybe 800 elsewhere).
and he's been getting this kind of atrocious fees for a few years now.
someone ought to remind our boy how untill a few years back when ppl talked about mehdi rahmati, it was when they wanted to joke and recount how foolish a keeper can look or how lousy a goal tender tends his goal.

while I agreed with the principle of banning foreign GK's in IPL (I thought it would encourage clubs to TRAIN & DEVELOP keepers), I think we shd have thought about how anything positive can be twisted in Iran and is made use in the worst possible way.

so maybe iran is not ready for normal, sensible laws and rules. maybe we shd remove the ban

not to be picky but

1) there is no income tax on employees here in qatar. its only on share holders.
2) cost of living is truly inflated and high specially housing, but most expats are provided with good accomodation by the employer anyways
3) although in principle the prize money for every ACL stage is high, we need to consider:
- We have no idea how much of the prize money is actually distributed among the players by the iranian club. how much of it disappearas in the air and from the account books, how much of it is distributed among the administration staff of the club, how much of it is invested in other areas/sports or even same football for say youth programs, or budgeting of next year which may or may not include in raise of salary of a particular player.
- We have no idea wat extra bonuses and allowances are given to the players when they move to UAE/Qatar. What we know is the contract value (if its to be trusted). What about the BMW mobali was driving all these years in dubai? did he buy it or did he get it as transportation allowance? we dont know. wat about a bonus or a reward for every goal scored? wat about the hugeee prizes and rewards they get if they win the league or any of cups in Qatar/UAE? they also have different tournaments among themselves and their neighbouring arab countries and huge prizes for that as well. wat about the trips they make to germany and italy and spain for friendlies and for training? and all this, leaving aside the more easy life in these arab countries with shorter working hours, less bureaucracy, the night life, etc which i think to them is secondary issues.

so i dont think its a penny wise pound foolish scenario because im 99.99% sure financially they are way better off in UAE/Qatar no matter how far they go in ACL with an iranian team.

however, amibition wise, they seem to have none.

P.S. eliminating competition is never a good thing. basic rule of economics, reduce in supply while keeping demand unchanged causes inflation and mr mehdy rahmati is the perfect example. (its not applicable only to iran)

yes u did but u went on to discuss iranian teams beating crappy qatari teams and going further in ACL and evenutually making more money (penny wise, pound foolish)

Lots of this I think is related to economics. Removal of subsidies was the first step to show government is under pressure (despite they are selling oil around 105 per barrel).

I think ministries and governmental organizations are under pressure and under bugetted so they cut footballing cost or at least bring it under control.

Now Abedini comes with a deep pocket and thirsty for fame, hence money is there and lots of people are willing to go to his team. Abedini is a very hands on guy from his PP days and has lot of contact in footballing world even outside Iran. So I think Damash will be very different from Esteel. We will see a very successful team (I consider top 6 finish as a very successful for a newly promoted team).

The situation in Iranian football....is as if the Drug cartles,of Columbia,are competing by thier football clubs.........money laundry, and waist, with no profit in mind.....
Hundreds of players, each year scrambling around to get,changing one club for the another, to whom ever that pays the most, or the club that has more money for laundry.....all under supervision of the biggest Drug dealer of all : " The Governement ".......
The stupid, Dejagah , does not know what , Zandi and mahdavikia and hashemian etc,etc know......." Pool e ya moft ", is being spread around, for poletical propaganda purposes ..........no accountebilities, no production neccessary !,...no age requirements, ..no talent neccessary........., only a " name " for better propaganda....... just be there, and try not to miss " Goshte Ghorbani ", ..." Amvale mellat ", Poole man o shoma...that Government is fvcking up !....
