wow man, last season every champions league commentator knew his name. the hype is dead. the rumors went from liverpool to rubin. all he needs is another weak season in russia for scouts to forget him completely.

whats the point if he goes to a big team and doesnt play ? To be ready for WC to help iran, he needs to play every week.

Completely agree. It would very worrying that this young striker with such hype around his performance in Champions league + NT + his NT just qualifying for WC would have no serious interest from decent league and/or is not ready to leave baba berdyev

And if and if and if... And if Azmoun stay in Russia and get injuried? And if Azmoun stay in Russia, stagnate and do a sh1tty WC? And What if he stays in Russia and get benched like some times in Rostov last year?

our players should take risk, should get out of their confort zone, should focus on improvement, on playing with the best coaches, players and opponents. They should open the path to other iranians to better leagues. And if he fails in liverpool or others big team, he will still see other decent clubs wanting him or at the very least baba berdyev.

To me, the risk is higher to stay in Russia : stagnation, less scouts from big league meaning less chance to be rescued. I watched Russia/New Zealand yesterday and Russia best players don't have an impressive level to be honest.

Quite a few teams from top leagues are interested in him , there is no doubt about it! It's just that he isn't willing to leave his comfort zone to work with a coach other than Berdyev. Btw staying in Russia for another season especially in Rubin Kazan is a bad move no matter how you look at it..
-No european football
-Playing again in a very defensive team
-Playing in a league where half or even more the teams use 3 CB in their games(and we know how much he struggles to score vs these teams)

Now I'm more worried about the rumours saying he will stay with Berdyev until he is 25 years old ... That would be truly catastrophic imo

To be fair, the Russian data scout overrated him, my suggestion for his last market value was 9mio, and people wondered why he got 13mio to begin with.

According to Team Melli's telegram account, Azmoun is a high priority signing for Zenit St. Petersburg

dear god please let home move anywhere but Rubin. Zenit would be a major upgrade as he would work with mancini. He would certainly improve as a player, and play for a team with a real chance of being a threat in europa League. The only doubt would be him as a starter given that Dzuyba, Russias CF is the current starter for zenit, and the old legend Kerzhakov is the backup. But with club captain danny leaving ( LW ) zenit may go to a two striker formation which Mancini has done in previous teams ( Man city notably ) . Then Dzuyba with a more mobile azmoun up front makes a lot of sense.

I have to say watching the Confederations Cup - it shows how well Azmoun is performing that he is getting lots of playing time and attention in a club that has 2 of Russia's 4 forwards (Poloz and Bukharov).
