Tbh he got plenty of chances. 15 games and a goal. Can't really blame the coach.
Now he has to maximize on little chances he may get or otherwise it will be a long season.

Agreed he’s not top form but in his defence, he’s not playing the main striker but more like a supporting one. He’s also expected to break the opposition play and has been given defending duties. These are not down to him and driven by the manager.
The manager for at least once, should test the team with Sardar leading the attack and Schicke benched to see if it is Sardar that is the cause of lacklustre scoring?

offensively finishing for them has been piss poor this season, but tbf, shick is more to blame on that front than sardar..! besides sardar has been assigned with alot more responsibilities as well as expected goal-getting as a drop back striker..!!
even bigger issue for them has been defensive structure and ability to hold possession for long enough spells in MF..!! for that coach seems clueless AF so far...!!
sardar probably be better off to come off the bench i suppose...? he really still lack the full game fitness to be a 90min player.... especially with so much running and work-rate expected of him trying spearhead their attack from midfield as well as be around the box for finishing touches too..!!

You can see why he has opted for a more defensive approach to midfield. Mainz is very quick on the break. But that does not mean Sardar can’t be trusted as a lone striker over Schicke who has had enough and lot more chances to score and come up with a big Zilch.sigpic
