ARJ I dont think is defensively sound enough or has recovery pace for england wide players, but certainly in the subsequent games he can feature there, or even be a sub for ghoddos in CAM role.

Sadegh say what you want about him but at full fitness he is rapid. He is good in tight spaces. There is just no way in hell he can play 3 games at a world class level in 2 weeks.

This should be our formation from the start for every game given our personnel. 442 would suit us if Ando and Nekou were in their prime or we had 2 excellent wingers like a Dejagah and prime confidence ARJ. And really strong LB and RB. We dont have any of those things. What gholizadeh even brings to this team as a starter in any position is beyond me.

      SHOJA KHALIZADEH
      is a must must
      RB IN THE WORLD CUP.
too bad if he dont like that position
      we need him as rb.

PAG WILL be healthy ready to go
      as he is training fullforce.

      LB
v.amiri if healthy is #1 choice.

We need 4 solid defenders at the back ... Kanani majid Shoja and I say Aghasi . He looked good in his debute against a strong team. I say he cannot be overlooked. Noorafkan should be placed in girls teams. He is always flat footed and unsure of what he wants to do .. a defender who is not on his toes is doomed especially on left and right. And forget PAG ..he is a thing of the past and was never that solid.

          skocic line up against england

          biravand
          moharami kanani shoja norafkan
          saeed ahmad
          jb v.amiri
          sardar mehdi

          combo of
          noafkan and amiri on leftside
will make our left side strongest
defensively as amiri will help out
          ISSUE
          WILL SKOCIC LINE UP
          starts on the right side
as our rw jb or goli cant play
          and moharami dont have help
and moharmi is slow and can easily
          be beaten.
since the right side is weak
easily it effects our center of our
d as well which horizontal passing
easily open up our D DEEP IN OUR OWN 18.

Well I won't start Ghodds because the game will be physical ! Anyone starting Ghoddos , Noorafkan , Moharami , Noroolahi needs to re think their choices lol.

            -------------------Beiroooo-------------
Shoja---- Kanaani---- Majidi---- Amiri (if fit)
            --------Ezatollahi----- Ebrahimi (the tank)---
            ARJ------------ Azmoun---------------Taremi--
            ----------------Allahayar------------------

Subs: Gholizade, Ghoddos , Noroolahi (if we need to be physical and defend) , Hosseinzadeh/Mehdipoor.

            Why?

Azmoun is playing this position in bayer leverkusen.
Alahyar is also playing this position in hull and that how he scored his 1st goal
Taremi performed outstandingly in this position in Team melli and porto
            ARJ same old postion

Ezatolahi and Ebarahimi (the tank) need to defend well and get physcial. Mess up their game plan in MD.
Amiri . God I just pray that he is fit and ready for WC , without him i dono who to use! Noorafkan can't even handle small sarab players, nevermind the english players. Hajisooti lol.....
Shoja was outstanding in South korea as righ back, so we should stick

Its gonna be very very physical game, we will be playing against tall physical team so I don't see how ghoddos , moharami could help us if we need to defend. We already saw what happened to ghoddos in brentford when Thomas over used him in defensive position. and we already saw what happened to moharami against Son .

Which guys are the best in the midfield to disrupt opponents passing and flow?

Whatever line up that comes to question this is the key against england. Just sitting tight and kill their pace and tempo by tackling, being real slow on restarting the game after every incident, and having good defensive mids that can pull it off.

Also these DMs need to roam freely knowing how southgate works against compact defences. He will outflank defences and picked apart Sweden this way during last WC. So the DMs will have to be rotated and work the flanks backing up LB and RB

For this disruptive tactic to work we need an extreme fit team, there will be a lot of chasing and needing to defending in numbers. Not sure we will be able to execute a plan without the coaching staff setting a program between now and WC to get an extremely fit team, a team where the players can run 12 kms without losing their intensity. Can they?

True true very true and this was our main problem back in 2006 , players were tired after 60th minute.

However isn't this the job of the club to make sure their players are fit enough. Since majority of our players are playing in eruope and abroad I think our players will be fitter than our squad in 2006. Plus fifa has increased the subs from 3 to 5.

European players: Taremi, Azmoun , ARJ, Gholizadeh , Hoseini , Allahyar , Ghoddos , Haj sooti , Moharami

The only thing that worries me is our persian gulf based players like kanani , shoja , ezatolahi and ebrahimi.

Domestic players like vahid amiri (fitness specialist, so should be fit), mehdipoor and hosseinzadeh seem to be fit right now.

Let hope you are right, however the midfield is where we need that grit. Another angel to this is the clear tactics and execution of the plan, a big part of this is the closing of space and cutting out angles. This requires practice until it becomes natural which i think CQ did so well with his teams, he drilled the execution of his plans so well into the team that it became natural to them. I am afraid i am not that confident in our current coach to get the same result.

Player selection is 1% of the importance... 99% comes from which formation and the tactics we have during the game

Saying England struggles against a low block is a massive understatement.. They are awful against a low block and I genuinely believe CQ's Iran would hold them to a 0-0 or even sneak by with a 1-0 win against them, and I kid you not.

I just don't see Skocic's Iran holding England since his tactics just aren't truly defensive enough

                        -----------------Beiranvand--------------

                        Moharrami----Kanani---Pouraliganji---Majid Hosseini----Amiri

                        ---Ezatolahi--Ebrahimi---

                        -------------------Ghoddos--------------

                        ----------Allayar-----------Taremi-----

Since we're defending for most of the game, I'd be okay with bringing in Azmoun/Taremi as a 2nd half sub and save their wheels more for the Wales/USA games.

Sadly, I don’t think he is watching. And if he is I don’t think he knows what he is watching. It’s very, very sad.
