Bright spots: Haghighi with some GREAT saves. Hajsafi with a GREAT read and save. JB had 2-3 touches, won 2 corners. Nice to see Ando playing up a bit. Ashkan had a good half. Gucci with a nice volley.

Negatives: Shojaei. Shojaei. Shoajei. Defensive game plan.

Neutral. Everything and everyone else.

Overall decent showing from TM in the first half after 5 months of no games.


- Haghighi is a total beast

- Dejagah has not lost his form as I expected.

- weakest performance I have seen both from Reza and ando in their TM careers. Especially ando. wtf happened to him? He's fat, slow, and should have scored....I'd never would've thought I'd ever see such a poor performance from ando.

Explain to me what makes you think ando was bad? A bad shot makes him bad? He was everywhere as usual today and closed up a lot of the free space, and besides the one free kick and the one shot I didn't see him do anything wrong?

Not a bad game from Iran. Weak showing by Ando, Masoud and Nekounam. To be honest Iran's transition to attack has improved from WC. We are a counterattacking football team now so better get used to it boys.

look, im not here to bash CQ, but doesnt he realize, that high press is much more effective...We are sitting back and letting the koreans play which is to their advantage and not ours. Our midfield is old af, so im not surprised that we are playing this way. Azmoun for shojaei, and lets try either pouraliganji or abdollahzadeh for ando. Jb, hajsafi, dejagah, and gucci along with haghighi (especially) have been good.

Considering we were playing the world champions, Germany in Munich stadium, I think we did well to defend and defend solidly to prevent the Champs from steamrollng all over us.

Especially since w are playing with a man short as shojaei seems to be in n a freaking coma.

Shojaei still holds on to the ball for too long, still is a slow-thinker, still can't pass, still can't get into good positions. Did you see him playing with the ball in our half just now? For fuck's sake.

Haghighi looks more confident than he did in the WC and has proven to be reliable so far.
Montazeri is a God
Dejagah and Jahanbaksh are energetic as ever, Dejagah creating some good chances.
Heydari has had some very good crosses

Korea over all look the more poilshed team though, Iran took very long to get their rhythm going.
The whole hoof the ball to Gooch as if he's Gomis or Dzeko and can hold on to the ball up-field idea is stupid
