At this point we should just have a 50 men camp turn it into 4 teams and let our boys play each other behind closed doors.

Absolutely Iran has the worst preparation. USA already has two good friendlies booked against Morocco and Uruguay. In September they might play Saudi Arabia.

Iran has nothing. Some of former TM players who are now in their late 40s or in their 50s, 60s and 70s keep talking none sense saying if Football Federation was run by "Footballi" people then situation would be good. Look at the past several years, Ebrahim Shakouri a "Footballi" signed the disgraceful agreement with Wilmots. Other "Footballi" Mirshad Majedi, Hasan Kamrani-Far, Hamid Estili have not been able to arrange friendly match.

It's not being "Footballi" or not, it is about good management and administrative skills. For Example, in my opinion Kafashian (a non-Footballi but with a background in Sport Management/Administration did a great job as President of FFIRI and even during his era Iran was voted Asia's best football federation. Torabian and Nabi did well as Manager "Sarparast" of TM in comparison to most others in the past 15 years or so.

The other fault with Iranians apart from politics and other barriers is that there are far too many thieves and traitors that do anything to fill their own pockets or harm Iran in anyway possible: be it crazy fans/ultra feminists/al-ahwazi or pan-turk or Kurdish-separatists/disgraced Football Agents or Football Managers/others disgruntled football opportunists who hit the brick wall and seek vengeance who go on Social Media of FIFA and AFC or those who contact FIFA and AFC to ask for ban on Persepolis, Esteghlal, Team Melli or FFIRI, to those money-hungry corrupt FFIRI staff, coaches, referees and agents. Iran has become the laughing stock. Do we see any other nation in Asian continent behave like Iranians? not to mention in the whole world.

LOL they've helped us a lot with preperations in previous tournaments etc. and it's great.

At the same time, can't it reach a dangerous point? - they help us with so many things and what's next: we have to lose if we face them? lollll

No, I think they would be busy arranging Hezbolah to sing songs in Mashhad
Don't take my word for it, ask all the bloody defectors from Iranian Judo, Wrestling, Archery, Taekwondo, Chess, etc. etc.
Then why did federation put so much effort into qualifying us to start with Mr smart ?

So when Iran achieves something, like in the Olympics or qualifying for World cup, it's the "athletes efforts" and when we fail, it's "the regime", that's your genius rationality ?

The iranian civil nuclear program isn't affected by any "international" sanctions, it's only your US masters believing they are God on earth.

Last but not least, i would love to see the faces of all these iranian athletes defectors, who sought "freedom", pseudo places not mixing sport with politics, blaming Iran not to compete against Israel and finding themselves with their new passport in places where they're banned to compete against Russians and Bielorussians.

Mixing politics and sports IS wrong, in Iran and elsewhere but stop thinking it's only Iran doing that.

Those you worship are even worse than us in that regard, look what they did to Russia and Bielorussia and probably tomorrow, probably to China.

One thing is to constructively criticise a government, system or whatever for all shortcomings, another is to be a US and European Feet licker and permanently bash their own country.

We already have enough hurdles for this WC preparation to have people with political agenda coming here and bashing Iran 24/7.

Sorry for misunderstandings. You're totally right to criticise mismanagement and this unorganised mentality that we see every day in our country. We have weaknesses to fix but what's the most worrying is the shaky defense we have, which was never really tested against powerful opponents with fast and accurate strikers.

Everything else can be more or less deal with but that? Quiroz was able to somehow park the bus, even with average defenders it more or less "worked", although Iran wasn't scoring much.

Now we have a more powerful attacking line, with even more average defenders and i honestly don't know how we'll fix this without 3 or 4 proper friendlies, against powerful attacks.

Our defense is way too shaky from what I've observed during qualifications. One positive thing is that it was more or less always the case during the previous WC and somehow, Iranian defenders where playing better and more focused when facing powerful opponents.

Only Quiroz really came with "a system" which was highlighting our strengths and decreasing our weaknesses. Let's hope Skocic will be able to implement a plan and strategy because with the quality of our team in general, we can qualify out of our group, if and only if this defensive line is more or less fixed.

Our preparations always suck, we literally approached our must win WCQs with no friendlies. The federation already accepts qualifying as a win, they have no plans to help us perform. We were lucky to have a coach like Carlos that would openly speak out about this and roast them

I feel like laughing for a long time, then crying for a while, then transitioning back to laughter.

Allow me to provide a (Brief) translation of the message IFF posted on ig few mins ago:

Raeisi has now met with federation. He has taken photo op with #8 kit bc number reminds him of imam reza (8th imam), and also pledged his support.

All of estili checking his emails daily, skocic's famous preparation plan, kamranifar's 95% Brazil or Argentina, Canada Camp, Kirin Cup, Qatar 4 team tournament, New Zealand friendly, Senegal game, etc within 3 weeks imploded so badly they had to call in the "president" to start a higher level prayer circle, complete with special customization job of our tokhmi kit. And this is not even to secure friendlies...they actually mention that international travel prices have increased considerably We needed to invoke spirit of imam reza to get 2 flights to tashkent sorted.

then people (with limited mental faculties, but still people) ask what Cq did for TM and complain that he was very confrontational and always complaining

I believe TM technical staff of course know most of our weaknesses and strength. If we recognise areas that need strengthening, so do they. But the idea of arranging friendlies against strong opponents is to test whether the measures they have taken is effective at all. CQ did not do much good to our football or else we would not be in this situation. He never gave us a blue print for a good effective football. He got results by making every player on the pitch to play defensively and with long passes to lone strikers to go and score! This is not a blue print. It is a cop out. We have some great talents that always pull us through but never beyond because that's when a good head coach and his staff come in. Incompetence, mismanagement and corruption in all areas of our country is the biggest issue not now in this apparatus but since time immemorial.

I'm willing to go one better... As the head coach and team manager of my nephew's under 7s football team, I'm able to offer the IFF a lucrative friendly against my team, which I appreciate will now pose a dilemma between accepting my offer or that Afghanistan under 21 women's team friendly I know they're trying desperately to arrange.

                          Asian World Cup Team's preparation
                          ==================================
                          Japan - 4 Kirin friendlies
                          2 June vs Paraguay,
                          6 June vs Brazil,
                          10 June vs Ghana,
14 June vs Chile or Tunisia

3 East Asia Football Federation Cup
                          19 July vs Hong Kong,
                          24 July vs South Korea,
                          27 July vs China.

Korea has 1 friendly June 3 vs Brazil
                          3 EAFF Cup
                          20 July vs China,
                          24 July vs Japan,
                          27 July vs Hong Kong.

Saudi Arabia has 1 friendly 9 June vs Venezuela.

Iran and Qatar zero friendlies. My guess is that perhaps Qatar will host a 4-nation tournament so most likely Iran will play Qatar or one of the unknown invitees, and if wins another match vs another invitee.

No hope for TM. All teams are being taken one by one Tunisia, Peru, Paraguay, Chile, Ghana, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay. At this rate friendly vs Qatar/NZ/Costa Rica is perhaps the best fans can hope for. Unless no friendly at all.
